The FIFA World Cup 2026 concludes on Sunday (19 July, with the closing ceremony taking place ahead of the final.
Spain await Argentina in the men’s football final, which is being hosted in the USA’s New York New Jersey Stadium. Kick-off is at 15:00 local time (EDT, GMT-4), while the ceremony will begin at 13:30 EDT.
Tom Cruise will make a special appearance in the pre-match event, just as he did at the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The national anthem of the host nation will be performed by Jennifer Hudson, a winner of the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards, collectively known as ‘EGOT’.
Also set to perform are Post Malone, Robbie Williams, Nicole Scherzinger and Laura Pausini, while sports influencer and streamer IShowSpeed will also participate in the closing ceremony.
The final will also feature a half-time show for the first time in men’s World Cup history, which will feature the likes of Madonna, BTS and Justin Bieber on stage.
