National Open Athletics Championships 2026 results, schedule and medal winners

The National Open Athletics Championships 2026 is being held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi from October 8 to 11.

The 65th edition of the championships will feature men’s and women’s track and field events, race walking and relays across four days of competition.

The entry list includes several athletes from India’s Asian Games 2026 squad, nine of whom returned from Aichi-Nagoya with medals.

Kiran Pahal and Machettira Poovamma, members of India’s gold medal-winning women’s 4x400m relay team at the Asian Games, are among those entered.

Asian Games high jump silver medallist Sarvesh Kushare and pole vault bronze medal winner Baranica Elangovan are also part of the field.

A total of 48 finals will be contested during the four-day championships.

Seven champions were crowned on the opening day, including men’s pole vaulter Kuldeep Kumar and women’s triple jumper Asha Ilango.

Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Seema Kaliramna won the women’s discus throw, while Giridharani Ravikumar took the women’s 100m title.

Nirbhay Chaudhary won the men’s hammer throw, while Shampa Gain and Shivaji Madappa claimed the women’s 5000m and men’s 10000m titles, respectively.

The women’s javelin throw final will be held on Saturday, while the men’s javelin final is scheduled for Sunday, the last day of the competition.
