After a competitive 2-2 draw in their last 20-over assignment, the Indian cricket team will be aiming to secure a win in another five-match T20 2026 series against New Zealand, starting on Thursday.
The New Zealand vs India T20 2026 series will conclude on November 1. All five NZ vs IND T20 cricket matches will be available to watch on live streaming and live telecast in India.
The first two matches will be hosted at Christchurch’s Hagley Oval before the action shifts to the Wellington Regional Stadium for the third.
The fourth match will be held at Eden Park in Auckland, while the series will culminate at Seddon Park in Hamilton.
Shreyas Iyer, who took over as Indian T20 captain in June, remains at the helm, with Tilak Varma named his deputy. The 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is also in the squad.
Veteran fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar and spinner Varun Chakaravarthy also return to action.
Incidentally, Bhuvneshwar Kumar last bowled in a T20I for India against New Zealand in November 2022.Â
He was a late addition to the Indian team in the last match of their recent T20 series against West Indies and was named in the playing XI but didn’t bowl after the match was abandoned due to rain.
However, ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah is not a part of the squad and has been rested for the T20I series.
Meanwhile, white-ball skipper Mitchell Santner will lead the Black Caps. Rachin Ravindra, though, has been ruled out of the series after dislocating his right shoulder.
Pacer Adam Milne and spin-bowling all-rounder Michael Bracewell return to the team after injuries kept them out of New Zealand’s run to the final of the T20 World Cup earlier this year.
The New Zealand cricket team, who lost to India in the T20 World Cup final, last played a 20-over series against Bangladesh in April-May, drawing the three-match contest 1-1.
Reigning world champions India are currently second in the ICC men’s team rankings, while New Zealand are in fourth spot.
