In this context, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), together with UNESCO-UNEVOC and the HP Foundation, is making HP LIFE courses available through its TESDA Online Program (TOP), a national eLearning platform in the Philippines. The initiative expands access to free digital and entrepreneurship training opportunities for learners across the country, enabling them to develop practical digital skills aligned with current industry needs.
HP LIFE is a free business and digital skills training programme of the HP Foundation. It offers online courses introducing learners to key AI concepts, responsible use of AI, and practical applications of AI in business and everyday work — ranging from artificial intelligence (AI) and entrepreneurship to marketing and finance. By integrating HP LIFE courses into the TESDA Online Program, TESDA strengthens opportunities for learners to gain foundational knowledge and in-demand digital competencies, particularly in emerging areas such as AI, that are increasingly essential in the digital economy.
The collaboration is facilitated through the UNESCO Global Skills Academy, an initiative dedicated to addressing pressing labour skills gaps and empowering individuals for a future-ready workforce by connecting international organizations, governments and industry partners to expand access to quality skills development opportunities worldwide. By bringing partners together, the Global Skills Academy advances collective efforts toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in promoting inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning. The Global Skills Academy is committed to supporting ten million youth and adults globally in building essential skills for improved employability by 2029.
Through this collaboration, TESDA continues to expand opportunities for learners in the Philippines to access high-quality, industry-relevant training and develop digital, entrepreneurial and AI-related skills that can open innovative opportunities, new employment and a better livelihood.
