The Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 semi-finals line-up has been confirmed.
Six-time winners Australia and South Africa qualified as the top two teams from Group 1, while Hosts England and 2016 champions West Indies made it from Group 2.
Australia will play West Indies on June 30 while England will take on South Africa on July 2. Both matches will be played at The Oval in London.
Hosts England became the first team to qualify for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 semi-finals after beating the West Indies in their penultimate group game at Lord’s on June 24.
The West Indies became the second team to qualify after the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup champions New Zealand were eliminated after losing their last group game against the hosts.
Australia, with five wins out of five, topped Group 1 ahead of South Africa, who became the second-placed team to reach the final four from the same pool.
Meanwhile, Pakistan and the Netherlands became the first two teams to be eliminated from the semi-finals race in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 after suffering their third straight losses of the campaign on June 20. Ireland were the first team to bow out of Group 2.
The Indian cricket team‘s fate was sealed following a six-wicket loss to Australia in the final game of the group stage on June 28.
How teams qualified for Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 semi-finals
For the 10th edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup, the 12 competing teams were divided into two equal groups.
Australia, runners-up of the last two editions South Africa, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and newcomers Netherlands were drawn in Group 1.
Meanwhile, hosts and inaugural champions England, along with former winners West Indies, Sri Lanka, Scotland and Ireland were in Group 2.
As per the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 format, each team played the other side in its group once during the group stage, following which the top two teams from each group advanced to the semi-finals.
Net Run Rate (NRR) was used as the tiebreaker in Group 2 after both West Indies and Sri Lanka finished on six points.
The semi-final line-up will see the Group 1 winners Australia take on the Group 2 runners-up West Indies, while the Group 2 table-toppers England will face South Africa – the second-placed team from Group 1.
