As part of the implementation of this activity, a consultative mission took place in Congo from 3 to 8 August 2026. The joint team from the Ministry of Culture, Arts, National Heritage and Tourism Industry and UNESCO, supported by two international experts specializing in cultural and natural heritage, met with institutional stakeholders responsible for culture, the environment, and civil protection and security.
The mission also provided an opportunity to visit sites and communities, including the Royal Domain of Mbé, located in the Pool Department, the Conkouati Douli National Park and the Former Slave Port of Loango, both located in the Kouilou Department and inscribed on the Tentative List of the Republic of the Congo. The mission also visited the National Museum of Congo, as well as the Diosso Gorges and Museum.
