The Indian women’s cricket team will play Sri Lanka in the final of the Asian Games 2026 at Korogi Sports Park, Nisshin, on Tuesday in what will be a repeat of the gold medal match from Hangzhou 2023.

Defending Asian Games women’s cricket champions India reached the final after brushing aside hosts Japan by eight wickets in the quarter-finals before overcoming Bangladesh by 114 runs in the semis.
Sri Lanka, meanwhile, have been equally decisive as they beat Malaysia by 86 runs in the quarters before outclassing Pakistan by eight wickets in the semis.
The run of results means that the women’s cricket medal matches at Aichi-Nagoya 2026 are identical to those of Hangzhou. The Pakistan vs Bangladesh bronze medal match, meanwhile, starts at 5:30 AM.
The gold medal contest will also be the second time India and Sri Lanka are crossing paths vying for a major continental crown this month. They met in the Asia Cup final in Dubai less than 10 days ago.
Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma scored fifties in the match as Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. comfortably won by 72 runs.
Shafali Verma enters the final in scorching form. After back-to-back fifties in the Asia Cup semis and final, the 22-year-old Indian opener struck an unbeaten 40 against Japan and followed it with an unbeaten century against Bangladesh in the top four.
Sree Charani and Deepti Sharma have also been amongst the wickets in the Asian Games cricket tournament.
Sri Lanka’s hopes rest heavily on captain Chamari Athapaththu, who is the tournament’s top run scorer with 146 runs in two games. She is also her team’s leading wicket-taker with three scalps.

India hold a commanding edge in the fixture, having won 25 of the 31 T20Is between the sides. Sri Lanka have claimed five, with one match ending without a result. India are on a seven-match win streak against the Lankans with their last defeat dating back to 2024.
