During the ceremony organized by the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, Mr Serge Banyimbe, Head of the Communication and Information Sector at the UNESCO Regional Office in Yaoundé, presented the practical guide “Growing Up in a Connected World Is Something We Learn! – The All-Screen Family”, alongside Ms Marie Noëlle Oli Bilias, a developmental psychologist, founder of the Digital Parenting School and Vice-President of Éduk Média Cameroon, a UNESCO partner.

Designed to help families navigate the realities of the digital world, this guide provides practical guidance on managing screen time, social media, cyberviolence, generative artificial intelligence, developing critical thinking skills and, above all, fostering dialogue between parents and children.

Through this contribution, UNESCO emphasized that protecting girls’ rights today also means empowering them to navigate the digital world safely, responsibly and with informed judgement.
