The opening ceremony was presided over by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Mrs. Minette Libom Li Likeng, bringing together ICT professionals, entrepreneurs, young innovators and international development partners.

Organised by Mountain Hub, the three-day summit aims to accelerate sustainable development by bringing the potential of young people around technological innovation, entrepreneurship, talent development. It provides a platform for stakeholders from the public and private sectors, and development institutions to exchange ideas, showcase innovative solutions and build partnerships that can contribute to Cameroon’s digital transformation.

UNESCO presented its work and mandate through an exhibition stand. The stand provided an opportunity to introduce visitors to the Organization’s mission and its contribution to education, science, culture and communication and information, while showing the importance of these fields in building inclusive and sustainable societies.

Through this participation, UNESCO engaged with the summit’s innovation driven environment and demonstrated how its work connects with the ambitions of young people and other stakeholders seeking solutions to contemporary challenges. The presence also offered an opportunity to promote the role of knowledge, creativity, access to information and international cooperation in supporting innovation that benefits society
