The Indian women’s cricket team beat Zimbabwe by nine wickets in the second IND-W vs ZIM-W T20I 2026 in Raipur on Sunday to seal the three-match series with one game remaining.

Zimbabwe, who won the toss and opted to bat, were restricted to 102/8 before India raced to 104/1 in 8.5 overs.

Vice-captain Shafali Verma led the chase with a blistering 55 off 25 balls, while captain Smriti Mandhana remained unbeaten on 47 off 25.

Earlier, Niki Prasad returned with figures of 2/7 from two overs while Kranti Gaud bowled a miserly spell of four overs to concede just 15 runs for one wicket.

For the Zimbabwe women’s cricket team, Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano top-scored with 34 off 32 balls, while captain Josephine Nkomo remained unbeaten on 27.

Zimbabwe struggled for momentum from the outset and managed only 20/1 in the powerplay.

Nandani Sharma provided India’s first breakthrough, bowling Kelis Ndhlovu for an 11-ball duck before Deepti Sharma removed Beloved Biza for seven.

Kranti Gaud then dismissed Sharne Mayers for nine as Zimbabwe slipped to 30/3.

Mugeri-Tiripano combined with Nkomo to steady the innings and took Zimbabwe to 51/3 at the halfway stage.

Their 45-run fourth-wicket partnership was broken by Niki, who struck with her first delivery in international cricket, having Mugeri-Tiripano caught behind.

She then trapped Nyasha Gwanzura LBW with the next ball to reduce Zimbabwe to 75/5.

Nkomo held the innings together but Zimbabwe continued to lose wickets at the other end before eventually finishing on 102/8.

Chasing 103, Mandhana and Shafali ensured there would be no repeat of India’s top-order collapse from the opening match.

India raced to 76/0 in the powerplay, with Shafali unbeaten on 46 off 20 balls and Mandhana on 29.

The pair were particularly severe on Nyasha Gwanzura, taking 21 runs from her third over as India surged past 60 inside five overs.

Shafali brought up her half-century from 24 balls and eventually fell for 55, having struck six fours and four sixes.

She went past Mandhana’s record of most sixes for India women in T20Is, with 111 maximums – two more than her skipper.

Her dismissal ended a 96-run opening stand, but victory was already a formality.

Mandhana stayed unbeaten on 47, striking six fours and two sixes, as India completed the chase with 67 balls remaining.

India and Zimbabwe will meet again in the third and final T20I in Raipur on Tuesday.
