Spain’s Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra won the DP World India Championship 2026 title at the Delhi Golf Club in the national capital on Sunday, claiming his third victory of the season.
Eugenio Chacarra completed his weather-delayed third round with a nine-under 63 on Sunday morning to take a five-shot lead into the final round of the golf meet. He followed it up with a two-under 70 to finish 21-under 267 and win by two strokes.
The victory continued a strong late-season run for the Spaniard, who finished third at the French Open in September before securing second place at last week’s Spanish Open.
The win also lifted Chacarra to the top of the Race to Dubai standings on the DP World Tour, ahead of American Patrick Reed and Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy, with the season set to conclude next month.
New Zealand’s Daniel Hillier finished second with 19-under at the India Championship, while Poland’s Adrian Meronk and Spain’s Angel Hidalgo shared third place at 15-under. England’s Tommy Fleetwood, the 2025 champion, finished tied fifth at 13-under.
Career Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy carded a two-over 74 in the final round to finish tied 42nd at four-under.
Chacarra’s victory marked another significant success in India for the Spaniard, who won the Indian Open in March last year while playing on an invitation.
That maiden DP World Tour title earned him full playing status after his stint on the LIV Golf circuit. He also won the KLM Open and the Italian Open in June 2026.
Meanwhile, Anirban Lahiri was the highest-placed Indian golfer, finishing tied 23rd at eight-under.
Only six of the 31 Indian golfers made the cut for the weekend rounds. Yuvraj Sandhu finished tied 34th, Om Prakash Chouhan T-42nd, Karandeep Kochhar T-49th, Saptak Talwar T-55th and Shiv Kapur in T-69th.
Shubhankar Sharma failed to make the cut, and was placed tied 108th.
