China Open 2026 badminton: Resurgent PV Sindhu looks to build on renewed momentum – where to watch live

Fresh off her title triumph at the Japan Open, PV Sindhu will look to build on renewed momentum when she leads India’s challenge at the China Open 2026 badminton tournament, starting on Tuesday.

Badminton matches from the China Open, a BWF Super 1000 tournament, will be available to watch on live streaming in India.

Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu heads into the China Open after beating three-time world champion Akane Yamaguchi to end an almost two-year-long title drought in Japan last week.

PV Sindhu, the 2016 China Open champion, clinched the Japan Open crown without dropping a game and will now look to carry her imperious form forward in the People’s Republic of China.

Devika Sihag and Unnati Hooda are the other Indian badminton players in the women’s singles draw.

Paris 2024 semi-finalists Lakshya Sen, world No. 24 Ayush Shetty and HS Prannoy, 36th in the badminton rankings, are the three Indian entries in the men’s singles draw.

In the men’s doubles, Asian Games champions Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will once again be in focus as they attempt to put their injury woes behind them after a disrupted comeback at last week’s Japan Open.

Making their first appearance since Satwik aggravated a shoulder injury during the opening round of the Indonesia Open in June, the pair were forced to retire after the injury flared up once again, cutting short their long-awaited return.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, the only other Indians besides PV Sindhu to clinch a BWF World Tour title this year at the Singapore Open in May, will be hoping to put their injury setbacks behind them in China.

Meanwhile, Olympian Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila, along with Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde, will represent India in the mixed doubles. India, however, has no entries in the women’s doubles draw.
