The IPL 2027 auction is set to be held in Goa on December 16, with the one-day event returning to India after three successive editions overseas.
The mini-auction will take place nearly a month after the November 15 deadline for the 10 Indian Premier League franchises to submit their final lists of retained and released players, according to a Cricinfo report.
Once the retention window closes, the remaining auction purse and available player slots for each cricket franchise will become clear.
The registered pool of players will subsequently be shared with the teams for shortlisting before the final auction list and order of sets are drawn up closer to the event.
The IPL 2027 auction will be the final mini-auction under the current player regulations cycle, which covers the 2025, 2026 and 2027 seasons.
Dubai hosted the auction ahead of IPL 2024 before Jeddah in Saudi Arabia staged the IPL 2025 mega auction. The 2026 mini-auction was held in Abu Dhabi.
The IPL trade window has so far seen two deals since the end of the 2026 season.
Rishabh Pant returned to Delhi Capitals from Lucknow Super Giants in June, with India spinner Kuldeep Yadav moving in the opposite direction.
More recently, T Natarajan was traded from Delhi Capitals to Sunrisers Hyderabad, while leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari moved to Delhi.
The dates for the IPL 2027 season are yet to be finalised.
