PV Sindhu and doubles duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy–Chirag Shetty, both BWF World Tour title winners this year, will lead India’s campaign at the Denmark Open 2026 badminton tournament, starting on Tuesday.
Badminton matches from the Denmark Open 2026, a BWF Super 750 tournament, will be available for live streaming in India.
PV Sindhu, who won the Japan Open Super 750 title earlier this year, faces a formidable opening-round challenge in women’s singles against Olympic champion and world No. 1 An Se-young of the Republic of Korea.
The two-time Olympic medallist, ranked 10th in the women’s singles badminton rankings, has never beaten An Se-young and lost all 10 of their previous encounters.
Sindhu will be joined in the women’s singles draw by compatriots Tanvi Sharma, Ashmita Chaliha, Devika Sihag and Unnati Hooda.
Tanvi and Ashmita have also enjoyed BWF World Tour success this year. Tanvi claimed her maiden title at the Taipei Open, while Ashmita won the Korea Masters, with both triumphs coming in August.
In men’s singles, Lakshya Sen will look to rediscover his form and build on his runner-up finish at the All England Championships earlier this year.
His season has been disrupted by inconsistent performances and injuries, and he faces a stern test against world No. 3 Chou Tien-chen of Chinese Taipei in the opening round.
Lakshya will be joined in the men’s singles draw by Ayush Shetty and former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth, who won the Denmark Open in 2017.
In men’s doubles, Satwiksairaj and Chirag will return to action for the first time since their quarter-final exit at the Asian Games 2026, where they fell short in their bid to defend their title.
However, the Indian pair have enjoyed a successful year on the BWF World Tour, winning the Singapore Badminton Open and China Masters, and will be aiming to add a third title in Denmark.
World Championships bronze medallists Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will lead India’s challenge in women’s doubles alongside Rutaparna Panda and Swetaparna Panda. No Indian badminton players will compete in the mixed doubles draw.
