The FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 is underway in Belgium and the Netherlands, featuring separate men’s and women’s tournaments, with 16 teams competing in each competition.
Both hockey tournaments began with four pools (A-D) of four teams, with each side playing three matches in the opening pool phase.
In the second phase, the top two teams from each pool move into crossover Pools E and F, while the bottom two enter Pools G and H.
The top two teams from Pools E and F will then advance directly to the semi-finals, while the other sides will compete in classification matches to determine their final positions from fifth to 16th.
The Women’s Hockey World Cup 2026 will conclude on August 29 in the Netherlands at the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen.
The Men’s Hockey World Cup 2026 final will be played at the Stade Justin Peeters in Wavre, Belgium, a day later.
