Kazakhstan ratifies the 2011 Asia-Pacific Regional Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education

On 17 March 2026, Kazakhstan deposited with the Director-General its instrument of ratification of the Asia-Pacific Regional Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education (Tokyo, 26 November 2011).

With reference to Article X.6, paragraph 1, of the Convention, the Director-General observed that the instrument contained the following reservation

«Articles IV.7, V.1, V.2, V.3, VI.3 and VIII.4 of the Convention shall not apply to the Republic of Kazakhstan.» [Original: English]

In accordance with the terms of its Article X.2, the aforementioned Convention will enter into force with respect to this State, on the first day of the month following the expiration of the period of one month after the date of the deposit of its instrument, that is to say on 1 May 2026.
