After a successful outing in Singapore last week, Indian badminton players, including Satwiksairaj Rankireddy–Chirag Shetty and PV Sindhu, will look to continue their momentum at the Indonesia Open 2026 starting from Tuesday.
The Indonesia Open badminton, the third Super 1000 tournament of the 2026 BWF World Tour, will be available to watch on live streaming in India.
Asian Games champions Satwik and Chirag head to Jakarta after ending their two-year BWF World Tour title drought.
The former world No. 1 badminton pair won the Singapore Badminton Open men’s doubles title last week to claim their first BWF World Tour title since winning the Thailand Open two years ago.
PV Sindhu also showed signs of returning to form in Singapore.
The two-time Olympic medallist registered impressive wins over Indonesia’s world No. 6 Putri Kusuma Wardani and Japan’s Riko Gunji before losing to reigning Olympic champion An Se-young in the quarter-finals.
Currently world No. 12, Sindhu could face An Se-young again in the second round at Jakarta.
Unnati Hooda and Malvika Bansod are also part of the Indian women’s singles squad in Jakarta.
Lakshya Sen, a quarter-finalist in Singapore, and HS Prannoy, who upset Indonesia’s world No. 5 Jonatan Christie in the opening round last week, will lead India’s challenge in the men’s singles draw.
Mixed doubles pair Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto also impressed in Singapore with a semi-final finish. However, they face a difficult opening-round test in Jakarta against Malaysian world champions Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei.
Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will be India’s only challenge in the women’s doubles draw. The Indonesia Open marks the duo’s first outing on the BWF World Tour since the Swiss Open in March as Treesa was recovering from an injury.
