Olympians Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar will headline India’s golf team at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
The Indian Golf Union (IGU) announced the six-member squad – three men and as many women – on Sunday. The selections were done based on world rankings.
Yuvraj Sandhu, currently 447th in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR), will spearhead the three-member men’s contingent, which also features world No. 549 Veer Ahlawat and world No. 569 Saptak Talwar.
Aditi Ashok, ranked world No. 135, heads the women’s team alongside the 221st-ranked Diksha Dagar and the 270th-ranked Pranavi Urs.
The golf competition at the Asian Games 2026 will be held from September 30 to October 3 at the Kasugai Country Club East Course.
Golf at the Asian Games features four medal events: men’s individual, men’s team, women’s individual and women’s team.

Aditi Ashok is one of the country’s most accomplished golfers, a five-time winner on the Ladies European Tour (LET), and has featured in three Olympic Games. She came agonisingly close to a medal at Tokyo 2020, finishing fourth.
The 28-year-old Indian golfer has already experienced continental success with a silver at Hangzhou 2023, marking India’s maiden and only women’s golf medal to date.
Pranavi Urs also represented India at the last Asian Games, finishing 13th in the women’s field.
Diksha Dagar will be returning to the Asian Games stage after finishing 22nd at Jakarta 2018. The two-time Olympian and Deaflympics champion is also a two-time victor on the LET.
Yuvraj Sandhu heads into the 2026 Asian Games after a dominant 2025 season on the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), where he won a record seven titles.
Indian golfers have won seven medals at the Asian Games – three gold and four silver – to date.
The country’s first golf gold medals came at the New Delhi 1982 Asian Games, where Lakshman Singh won the men’s individual crown and combined with Rishi Narain, Amit Luthra and Rajeev Mohta to secure team gold.
While Shiv Kapur delivered individual gold at Busan 2002, India’s men’s teams followed up with silver-medal finishes at Doha 2006 and Guangzhou 2010. Aditi Ashok claimed the latest one at Hangzhou.
