During a ceremony held on 24 May 2026, bringing together national and international officials, partners, and beneficiaries. This initiative marked a key milestone of the UNESCO–Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) project, “Innovating Iran’s Instructor Training Center.”
The programme included the official unveiling and inauguration of newly equipped training workshops at ITC. During the visit, guests and participants toured six training workshops across project target departments that had received updated training equipment and educational facilities through the project. The new facilities include advanced IT infrastructure, audiovisual production tools, digital design technologies, and professional-grade fashion and garment production equipment, strengthening the Center’s capacity to deliver practical and industry-relevant training in the following 6 target departments: Information and Communication Technology; Fashion Design and Sewing; Pedagogy, Entrepreneurship, and Soft Skills; Multimedia and Content Development; Agriculture; Construction Industries.
The upgraded facilities are expected to strengthen instructors’ competencies, improve the quality of training delivery, and better align training programs with labor market needs, ultimately contributing to workforce development and youth employability. Participants were also introduced to the educational capacities and training potential of other departments of the Center during the visit.
In a message to the participants, Ms. Anna Paolini, Officer-in-Charge of the UNESCO Tehran Office, emphasized the importance of these initiatives to strengthen Iran’s technical and vocational education and training (TVET) system and improve skill development opportunities for different segments of society, which is not only an educational priority but also an important contribution to resilience, livelihoods, and sustainable development in the current circumstances.
Mr. Friedrich Huebler, Head of UNESCO-UNEVOC, highlighted the importance of international cooperation in strengthening skill development and supporting innovation, advancement, and modernization within Iran’s TVET system.
The event was attended by Mr. Gholamhossein Mohammadi, Deputy Minister and President of TVTO; Mr. Kim Jun-pyo, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Islamic Republic of Iran; Mr. Fartousi, Secretary-General of the National Commission for UNESCO in Iran; Mr. Hajilari, Deputy Director General for International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; representatives of the UNESCO Tehran Office; and other distinguished guests and partners.
Expressing his appreciation to the project implementation team, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea remarked: “This project is not merely an investment in upgrading physical training institution; it is an investment in people and in the future.”
