Jamaica ratifies the 1970 Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property

On 16 July 2026, Jamaica deposited with the Director-General its instrument of ratification of the Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property (Paris, 14 November 1970).

In accordance with the terms of Article 21, the Convention will enter into force with respect to Jamaica three months after the deposit of the instrument of ratification, that is to say on 16 October 2026.
