Malé, Maldives, 22 September 2026: The Maldives is taking steps towards establishing a National Information Centre (NIC) for the recognition of higher education qualifications, with the aim of making international study and employment opportunities more accessible for Maldivian students, graduates and professionals.
The Workshop on Establishing a National Information Centre for Recognition of Qualifications, organized by the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) in partnership with UNESCO brought together government representatives, higher education institutions, professional councils and international experts to explore how the Maldives can strengthen qualification recognition and build greater trust in its higher education system.
