Junior World Championships medallists Ayush Shetty and Tanvi Sharma will be among the young Indians looking to make their mark at the Orleans Masters 2026 badminton tournament, beginning at the Palais des Sports in France on Tuesday.
Badminton matches at the Orleans Masters 2026, a BWF Super 300 tournament, will be available to watch on live streaming in India.
Ayush Shetty, 25th in the BWF rankings, will be the highest-ranked Indian badminton player in the men’s singles draw. The 20-year-old, who won the US Open last year, is seeded eighth in Orleans.
Former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth, currently ranked 30th, will also be in action. The experienced Indian shuttler reached the finals of the Malaysia Masters Super 500 and the Syed Modi International Super 300 last year and will also be looking to return to winning ways.
HS Prannoy withdrew after experiencing shoulder pain during the Swiss Open in Basel last week.
Tharun Mannepalli and world No. 42 Kiran George are also part of India’s men’s singles line-up. George recently stunned Singapore’s former world champion Loh Kean Yew at the Swiss Open.
In women’s singles, Tanvi Sharma is a three-time runner-up at BWF World Tour events and is searching for her title on the circuit.
Devika Sihag arrives in Orleans with momentum after clinching her maiden BWF World Tour title at the Thailand Masters Super 300 last month and following it up with another crown at the Azerbaijan International.
Malvika Bansod has reached the second round only once in seven tournaments this season and will look to go deeper in France. Youngster Anmol Kharb will also start from the main draw.
Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu will skip the Super 300 meet. The Indian star also missed the All England Open and Swiss Open earlier this month, while Lakshya Sen will also not feature in Orleans.
In mixed doubles, Tanisha Crasto will partner Dhruv Kapila, while Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde will form the other Indian pair.
India’s men’s doubles challenge will be led by Hariharan Amsakarunan and MR Arjun in the absence of Asian Games champions Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy.
