WASHINGTON, D.C., August 25, 2026 The World Bank (International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, IBRD, Aaa/AAA) today priced a 10-year euro-denominated benchmark bond maturing in September 2036, raising EUR 3 billion.

The transaction attracted over 115 orders totaling over EUR 6 billion, appealing to investors around the globe. The bond priced with an annual yield of 3.477%. This equates to a spread vs. the reference Bund of +25.5 basis points.

Credit Agricole, Citi, J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs are the lead managers for the transaction. The bond will be listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.

“Returning to the euro market with a 10-year Sustainable Development Bond is a milestone that reflects the enduring confidence investors place in the World Bank’s mission and long-term financial strength,” said Jorge Familiar, Vice President and Treasurer, World Bank Group. “An order book of over EUR 6 billion speaks to investors’ recognition of the positive, lasting impact the programs these bonds support deliver for people around the world.”

“The World Bank team’s  return to the EUR market with a new EUR 3 billion 10-year Sustainable Development Bond was a resounding success. As the first EUR-denominated 10-year SSA benchmark issued following the summer break, and IBRD’s first EUR benchmark since July 2025, the transaction was well timed and attracted outstanding investor demand. The resulting orderbook was one of the strongest achieved by the World Bank in EUR, underscoring the depth and quality of investor support for the name. Citi was delighted to support this transaction and congratulates the World Bank team on another stellar execution,” said Ebba Wexler, Head of Sovereign, Supranational and Agency (SSA) Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Citi.

“Congratulations to the World Bank team for their first Euro transaction of the new fiscal year. In a tense geopolitical context and highly volatile yield environment, they have been able to secure a large and well diversified orderbook, allowing a solid new EUR 3 billion 10-year with very limited concession. We would like to thank the World bank for their trust and are proud of the support we have provided for this successful transaction,” said Benjamin Moulle, Global Head of SSA DCM, Credit Agricole.

“We would like to congratulate the World Bank who successfully issued a new EUR 3 billion 10-year benchmark and continue to demonstrate their strategic prowess in the EUR market. Goldman Sachs is thrilled to have been a part of the World Bank’s first EUR transaction in their new fiscal year, aiding them in their global mission to finance sustainable development,” said Dorothee Amar, Managing Director, Co-Head of SSA, Goldman Sachs.

“The World Bank has once again demonstrated its strong standing within the EUR SSA market, successfully launching a new EUR 3 billion Sustainable Development Bond and establishing a new liquid 10-year point on its EUR curve. The transaction generated over EUR 6 billion of demand from a diverse and high-quality investor base, underlining the depth of support for the World Bank name and its sustainable development objectives. J.P. Morgan is honored to have been involved and congratulates the World Bank team on another outstanding execution,” said Sarah Lovedee, Head of Supranational DCM, J.P. Morgan.
