Asian Games medallist Shiva Narwal and shotgunner Sabeera Haris will headline a 71-member-strong Indian shooting contingent at the ISSF Junior World Cup 2026 in Cairo, Egypt, scheduled to start from Sunday.

The Cairo meet, which ends on April 27, is the first junior ISSF World Cup of the year for Under-21 shooters and will comprise events in rifle, pistol and shotgun disciplines. The second Junior World Cup this year is scheduled in Porpetto, Italy, in September but is only for shotgun events.
At last year’s ISSF Junior World Cup legs held across Germany’s Suhl and New Delhi, Indian shooters won 37 medals, including 17 golds – the most by any federation.
Indian shooters have overall dominated junior shooting competitions in recent years and will hope to continue the trend this year.
At the Cairo meet, 71 Indian shooters will be vying for medals across 18 medal events. Of these, 36 shooters will be involved in the 15 Olympic events.
The roster includes Shiva Narwal, who combined with Arjun Singh Cheema and Paris 2024 Olympic medallist Sarabjot Singh to win India the 10m air pistol men’s team gold at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games.
Shotgun shooter Sabeera Haris is another member of the team with senior-level pedigree, having won the mixed trap bronze with Olympian Kynan Chenai at the ISSF World Cup 2025 in Nicosia, Cyprus.
Abhinav Shaw, the men’s 10m air rifle Asian junior champion is also in the mix.
Overall, 284 athletes from 25 federations will compete in Cairo with India fielding the largest contingent of the lot.
Three non-Olympic events – men’s and women’s 50m rifle prone and men’s 25m pistol – will also be contested in Cairo.

Live streaming of the ISSF World Cup 2026 Cairo finals will be available on the ISSF YouTube channel in India. There will be no live telecast of the event on any TV channel in India.
