Asian Games gold medallist Jyothi Surekha Vennam and former world No. 1 Deepika Kumari will spearhead India’s charge at the Archery World Cup 2026 Stage 1, which gets underway in Puebla, Mexico, on Tuesday.

The season-opening leg of the four-stage Archery World Cup circuit will see over 200 archers from 32 countries in action from April 7 to 12, with qualification spots for the World Cup Final in Saltillo at stake.

Live streaming of the Archery World Cup 2026 Puebla recurve and compound finals will be available in India.

India have named a 16-member archery squad, headlined by Deepika Kumari, who will be targeting another podium finish to add to her impressive tally of 38 World Cup medals.

A four-time Olympian, Deepika clinched an individual bronze at Stage 2 in Shanghai last year.

World No. 3 Jyothi Surekha Vennam will spearhead the women’s compound unit alongside former world champion Aditi Swami, who returns to the squad after missing out on the Madrid stage last season.

Vennam enjoyed a standout 2025 Archery World Cup campaign, securing mixed team gold and bronze with Rishabh Yadav. The compound mixed team event will make its Olympic debut at LA 2028.

She also claimed two women’s team silvers and an individual silver in Shanghai and scripted history with an individual bronze at the World Cup Final in Nanjing – the first by an Indian compound woman at the event.

Among other notable names, Olympians Atanu Das and Tarundeep Rai feature in the recurve squad. Asian Games silver medallist Abhishek Verma, former world champion Ojas Deotale and 2025 Shanghai World Cup gold medallist Madhura Dhamangaonkar bolster the compound squad.

The Indian team for the first two stages of the Archery World Cup 2026 was selected following the national trials in Kolkata in February.

The 2026 Archery World Cup Final scheduled in September will feature the individual champions (both recurve and compound) from each of the four World Cup stages.
