Scotland will play host to a plethora of world and Olympic medallists at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, which take place from 23 July to 2 August.
More than 3,000 athletes will descend on Glasgow for 10 days of action across 10 sports, with six of those including Para events.
The artistic gymnastics competition takes place across five days at the Glasgow International Arena in the multi-use facility purpose-built for the Glasgow 2014 edition of the Commonwealth Games.

Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games: Top stars to watch in artistic gymnastics
The reigning Olympic champion and two-time world’s best on men’s pommel horse, Rhys McClenaghan, will compete for Northern Ireland, in a continued return to competition after a period out with injury and rehab. The 26-year-old, for a few more days at least, will be looking to reclaim the gold medal he won at the Gold Coast 2018 edition, after claiming silver last time out at Birmingham 2022.
World silver medallist on men’s floor, Luke Whitehouse, will compete for Team England, the winners in both men’s and women’s team competitions last time out, while Canada field a strong team including two gymnasts from Birmingham who claimed silver in the men’s team, Félix Dolci, a Paris 2024 Olympian and Jayson Rampersad.
Misha Koudinov, meanwhile, will represent New Zealand at an impressive sixth Commonwealth Games, having competed in his first at Melbourne 2006 aged 14.
Scotland’s side of Hamish Carter, Pavel Karnejenko, Cameron Lynn, Connor Sullivan and Reuben Ward could provide a surprise package in front of a home crowd.
Georgia Godwin and Ellie Black return to international competition
In the women’s edition, fan favourites Georgia Godwin (Australia) and Ellie Black (Canada) are both set to make their third appearances in the multi-sport event known as ‘the friendly Games’.
Godwin claimed an impressive five medals in Birmingham – missing the podium on just one event, the floor exercise. In Scotland, however, the 28-year-old from Queensland will just be happy to return to the fray after competing for the first time in a major international event since an Achilles’ injury kept her out of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Four-time Olympian Black has also been managing injuries but returns to represent her beloved Maple Leafs in the sport she loves.
Wales are represented by world floor silver medallist and Paris Olympian Ruby Evans, who is renowned for her elegant routine complete with dynamic tumbles.
Abi Martin will be up against her GB team-mate here as part of the England team with the duo potentially set for a showdown on floor exercise in which Martin came third at the 2025 World Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta to Evans’ second.
