A 20-member Indian shooting contingent, headlined by Asian trap champion Sabeera Haris, will compete at the ISSF Junior World Cup Shotgun 2026 in Porpetto, Italy, starting on Monday.

The Porpetto meet, which ends on September 19, is the second junior ISSF World Cup of the year for Under-21 shooters and will comprise the shotgun discipline. The first ISSF World Cup of the year was held in Cairo, Egypt, in April and featured rifle, pistol and shotgun disciplines.
Indian shooters won 16 medals – five gold, six silver and five bronze – at the Cairo meet earlier this year.
Zuhair Khan and Addya Katyal, competing in the mixed trap team event, bagged the bronze medal in Cairo and marked the country’s only podium finish in a shotgun event at the meet.
At last year’s ISSF Junior World Cup legs held across Germany’s Suhl and New Delhi, Indian shooters won 37 medals, including 17 golds – the most by any federation.
At the Porpetto ISSF Junior World Cup, 20 Indian shooters will compete across five medal events. They will feature in the individual junior shotgun events – six in men’s trap, four in men’s skeet, five in women’s trap and five in women’s skeet – with four also combining for the junior mixed team trap event.
Sabeera Haris will be one of India’s leading medal prospects in Porpetto and enters the meet with experience in senior competitions, having won the mixed trap bronze alongside Olympian Kynan Chenai at the 2025 ISSF World Cup in Nicosia, Cyprus.
Zuhair Khan, meanwhile, will feature in the men’s and mixed trap events, while Addya Katyal is a part of the women’s trap.
Overall, 218 athletes from 30 federations will compete in Porpetto with the United States fielding the largest contingent with 22 shooters from the country in action.
