On 27 March 2026, the World Economic Forum, in collaboration with the Government of Türkiye, convened a Country Strategy Meeting on Türkiye in Istanbul, bringing together senior political leaders and global business executives. As shifting geopolitical dynamics and economic fragmentation reshape global priorities, the meeting came at a critical time for dialogue.
Growth at a global nexus
Bridging Europe, Asia and the Middle East, Türkiye plays a strategic role amid evolving geopolitical dynamics and shifting trade patterns. As a G20 economy with a strong industrial base and growing influence on the global stage, it serves as a key anchor for trade, investment and production networks.
With its unique connectivity across regions and access to major markets, Türkiye is well positioned to strengthen its role in global value chains, attract investment and advance economic resilience. Its evolving reform agenda, coupled with a dynamic private sector, offers opportunities to drive sustainable growth and reinforce competitiveness in a rapidly changing environment.
A platform for strategic dialogue
The Country Strategy Meeting on Türkiye convened senior leaders from government and business, including President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who delivered a special address and engaged in a high-level Strategy Dialogue. Participants also included Vice-President Cevdet Yılmaz; Ministers Hakan Fidan, Mehmet Şimşek; Alparslan Bayraktar and Governor of the Central Bank Fatih Karahan.
We asked the meeting’s co-chairs, who are leaders in their industries, to weigh in on their biggest concerns related to the volatility – and how cooperation can address it. Read here.
